The world’s largest drag show, Werq The World, will return to Mexico in October 2025 as part of its world tour.
According to Voss Events, the production, which is supported by World of Wonder and MTV, will feature a completely revamped theme that will transport audiences to a gala evening inspired by the entertainment industry’s most iconic awards shows.
Confirmed dates include performances in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey on October 21, 23, and 25, respectively.
According to the organizers, this new edition of Werq The World will offer a more intimate theatrical experience, with a stage production that promises to exceed attendees’ expectations.
The event will be hosted by Jimbo, one of the most prominent figures in the RuPaul’s Drag Race universe, and will feature an all-star cast including Derrick Barry, Jaida Essence Hall, Marina Summers, Naomi Smalls, Morphine Love Dion, Vanessa Vanjie, and surprise finalists from the show’s 17th season.
A Tribute to Drag and Awards Season
The tour’s theme pays homage to the art of classic drag and the impersonation of great divas, recreating iconic moments from award show history.
According to Brandon Voss, the show’s producer, the intention is to offer an experience that rivals being front row at events like the Grammys.
“This staging celebrates the glamour and sparkle that characterize both drag and awards ceremonies,” he stated.
In addition, the show seeks to connect with fans by reviving the essence of the show’s most beloved seasons.
Jon Norris, also of Voss Events, expressed his enthusiasm for this new leg of the tour:
“We are excited to bring back all the elements audiences love from Werq The World. This year, we celebrate our favorite queens while paying tribute to awards season.”
