Beach Chela: The Quintana Roo Brewery You Should Know About

2

Visit Chela de Playa in Playa del Carmen

Just two blocks from the famous 5th Avenue, you’ll find this tap room with a beachy vibe (obviously), a cute spot that welcomes you with a sign that says “local craft beer.” From the moment you arrive, you feel good seeing their bar with lines of beer waiting to be tapped. Plus, you can drink it inside or on their terrace next to their cenote. Yes, they have a cenote! You can enjoy the great view, watch the turtles swim, and the tranquility it creates.

Speaking of chela, at their bar, you’ll find up to seven different beer styles, one of the most popular being their seasonal beer; A super delicious Jamaican gose and their Vienna lager, which won a silver medal at the Mexico 2024 beer festival. Something we can’t leave out is their menu of Mexican snacks, but with a Caribbean touch, but if you want a recommendation, you definitely have to try their marlin tacos; they’re the best in all of Quintana Roo.

Plus, they have the added bonus of having a cocktail bar, in case you fancy a fancy drink, and they also have canned beer if you’re looking to sip your beers right on the beach.

Places to visit in Tulum on vacation

And in Cancun?

If you’re in Cancun and want to explore a little further outside the hotel zone, one option is to visit this tap room. The space is larger, and if you’re going with a group of friends, this place will be quite a nice place to have a good time. Just like in Playa del Carmen, they have house beer, cocktails, and food. Something we can recommend is their famous Torta Wannabe.

Both locations offer vegan and vegetarian options so everyone can enjoy this great spot offering the freshest beer in the entire Caribbean. So, if you’re visiting Quintana Roo this Easter, you’ll find one of the best places to have a good time.
