Young man flees job interview in Puebla after detecting danger signs

A young woman named Saha shared her experience in a supposed job interview in Puebla that set off her alarm bells and made her flee the scene. She also urged people to be wary of certain job postings on social media.

According to the young woman, she shared her experience to raise awareness about job interviews on social media, which can be a ploy for purposes other than those sought. She also echoed the topic of Teuchitlán, Jalisco, where it was revealed that one of the ways people were recruited was through fake job postings on social media.

Through a TikTok video, the young woman explained that she needed a job, so she decided to take the interview for a job posting she found on Facebook for a “stationery assistant.” Although she had doubts about the position, she decided to go.

“I saw this job interview on Facebook and it seemed too good to be true,” she recounted.

Likewise, she pointed out that a “red flag” for any vacancy is that “they seem too good to be true,” but noted that at that moment her priority was to find another job, so she answered the call.

The young woman explained that she was summoned near Paseo Bravo, a landmark for most Puebla residents in the capital, and that upon arrival, she was notified that the interview was in a nearby building, a fact that raised her alarm, as the building was abandoned and lacked basic services.

She also said that the person who greeted her seemed strange but confirmed that she was in the right interview location, so she stayed. At that building, Saha revealed that there were at least seven other people also applying for the same vacancy.

For the young woman, the situation became more tense when the interviewers took them to a room and told them “from this moment on, you can no longer use your cell phone,” arguing that they had to “show commitment to go to work.”

“I found it very suspicious when they told us we couldn’t take out our cell phones, so I said, ‘Something is seriously wrong here,'” Saha said.

Furthermore, the alleged recruiters told them they were all going to be hired and explained how much they would be paid, which further raised the young woman’s suspicions.

“I said, ‘No, this is really, really bad. There were about 7 or 8 of us.’ I said, ‘No, we can’t all come in,’ and ‘Where’s the stationery store? This isn’t a stationery store.'”

Saha revealed that at that moment she panicked, so she texted her boyfriend to call her. When she answered, a recruiter became somewhat aggressive, questioning her why she was answering her cell phone.

She says that without hanging up, she ran out of the building until she reached the metrobus station, that is, Line 2 of the Urban Articulated Transport Network (RUTA), where she was able to calm down and go home, warning Internet users to be very careful when looking for a job and even more so when the job offers are dubious.
