In an unprecedented event, within the framework of International Transgender Day of Visibility, the governor of Nayarit, Miguel Ángel Navarro, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Beatriz Estrada Martínez, president of the Nayarit DIF System, presented 29 gender identity recognition certificates.
Of these documents, 24 were issued to people born in Nayarit and 5 to those born in Jalisco, Michoacán, and Guerrero.
During the ceremony, Governor Navarro Quintero highlighted the need for society to reinvent itself, advocating for greater inclusion. “It is vital to make the invisible visible and correct past injustices,” he declared.
He emphasized that with the presentation of these certificates, progress is being made toward truth and acceptance in the community.
For her part, Dr. Beatriz Estrada Martínez reaffirmed the commitment of the Nayarit government to building a just and inclusive society, where dignity and freedom are real rights for all. This event marks an important step in the fight for the rights of the transgender community in the state, reflecting a shift toward a more equitable society.
