Víctor Manuel ‘A’, a young motorcycle enthusiast known as “El Brasileño,” was murdered in Culiacán, Sinaloa, bringing the total to at least six homicides of content creators since the state’s violence crisis began last September.
“El Brasileño’s” body, which showed gunshot wounds and signs of violence, was found on the night of Wednesday the 26th in the Antonio Toledo Corro neighborhood of Sinaloa.
According to reports, local residents alerted authorities after hearing gunshots. Upon arrival, security forces found Víctor Manuel ‘A’s body, already lifeless.
The victim had been deprived of his liberty by armed individuals last Saturday, March 22nd, at a business he owned, which served as a motorcycle repair shop and accessories store.
This case brings the total to at least six influencers who have been murdered in Culiacán since September 9, when the wave of violence began due to internal disputes within the Sinaloa Cartel.
On October 19, content creator Juan Carlos, known as “El Chilango,” was murdered on Musala Island in Culiacán; Miguel Vivanco, alias “El Jasper,” was found dead on November 23 with signs of violence; and Leovardo Aispuro Soto, alias “El Gordo Peruci,” was murdered on December 9 south of Culiacán.
It is worth noting that flyers with photos of influencers and singers allegedly linked to Los Chapitos have been circulating in Culiacán, accusing them of money laundering and urging people not to consume their content or music.
Sinaloa, and Culiacán in particular, has been experiencing a crisis of violence since September 9, which, as of March 21, has resulted in at least 1,003 homicides, 1,144 people deprived of their liberty, almost 3,757 stolen vehicles, at least 942 arrests, and 69 deaths.
