JAC highlights the figures achieved on its eighth anniversary in Mexico

JAC Mexico celebrates its eighth anniversary of operations in Mexico by showcasing the growth the automaker has achieved during this period, highlighting its national production and distribution.

The Chinese brand arrived in the country in 2017 with a business model that prioritized domestic production, and therefore undertook the task of fine-tuning its assembly plant in Ciudad Sahagún, Hidalgo.

“Celebrating eight years in Mexico is not only an achievement, but also a testament to the commitment we have built with our customers, employees, and strategic partners. In a highly competitive automotive market, we have grown with a clear vision: to be the most highly valued brand in Mexico,” said Elías Massri, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Giant Motors Latin America.

The numbers support the Chinese automaker’s efforts in the country, as in less than a decade it has sold more than 82,000 units, a significant proportion of which have helped JAC become the leading brand in the electric car segment sold in Mexico with 22.37 percent, according to INEGI figures.

It also has a dealer network of more than 60; Of these, 74 percent have already been renovated with the brand’s new image, launched in 2024.
“Eight years of presence in Mexico translate into a solid infrastructure that supports JAC’s operations in the country. The assembly and distribution plant has a total area of ​​100,000 m², 70,000 of which are dedicated to vehicle assembly and 15,000 to the spare parts warehouse. In addition, more than 500 employees are dedicated to unit assembly, while over 150 professionals are part of the corporate team, driving the brand’s strategy and growth in the domestic market,” added Isidoro Massri, director of JAC Mexico.
Currently, JAC sells 23 models in Mexico, divided into passenger, commercial, and electric models. Of the latter, seven are powered solely by electric power.

A highly significant aspect is the job creation that the Asian automaker has managed to generate, with more than 800 direct jobs and more than 9,600 indirect jobs.
