Nintendo Switch 2 Prices Revealed in Latin America: A Guide to the New Console’s Cost in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and More

The highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 console has generated immense excitement among gamers worldwide, with its recent preview live stream becoming a trending topic on social media platforms. Although the console won’t be available until June 5, fans can now estimate the cost in various Latin American countries based on its price in the United States.

According to Nintendo’s announcement, the Switch 2 will start at US$450 in North America, representing a US$150 increase from the original Switch console. However, for those who wish to purchase the console and the new version of Mario Kart World, which features 24 racers and dynamic weather conditions, the price will be US$500.

To calculate the estimated prices in Latin American countries, we used today’s official exchange rate:

– Argentina: ARG$482,000 (console only), ARG$536,000 (with Mario Kart World included)

– Brazil: R$2,570 (console only), R$2,854 (with Mario Kart World included)

– Colombia: COP$1,855,000 (console only), COP$2,060,000 (with Mario Kart World included)

– Peru: S/1,652 (console only), S/1,835 (with Mario Kart World included)

– Mexico: MXN$9,202 (console only), MXN$10,225 (with Mario Kart World included)

In countries with dollarized currencies like Ecuador and Panama, the price of the Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to be the same as in the United States.

Pre-orders for the console will begin on April 8, and Nintendo fans can experience the Switch 2 firsthand at test events taking place between May 9 and 11 in various European cities. To participate in these events, fans had to register through the company’s website by mid-January, provided they have a free Nintendo Account and are over 18 years old.

Nintendo Switch 2 Features

The new console retains its predecessor’s large screen and detachable controllers but is slightly larger. It also allows for play both at home and on a TV via a dedicated docking station, while supporting almost all Switch games and exclusive titles developed specifically for it. The Switch 2 boasts additional features, including the ability to rotate controllers and use them as a computer mouse to play certain games.
