A contingent of more than 250 riders rode through the avenues and streets of Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, today to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the capital.
Riders from various municipalities, including Burgos, Hidalgo, Xicoténcatl, González, Aldama, Güémez, Jaumave, Llera, and the host city of Ciudad Victoria, participated in the contingent.
The 9-kilometer ride was led by Mayor Eduardo Gattás Báez, riding his horse, Bicentenario.
He was accompanied by General Enrique García Jaramillo, commander of the 48th Military Zone; also riding were Carlos Orozco Morales, Coordinator of Intergovernmental Development, representing the state governor, and Mauricio Rodríguez Collado, president of the “Pedro J. Méndez” Charro Association.
“Today, Victoria rides united, strong, with history and hope,” said Eduardo Gattás.
He added: “This bicentennial is a time to look back with gratitude and forward with determination. We will continue working to ensure that Victoria lives up to its history.”
