A bar in Cabo San Lucas was closed this weekend after detecting the presence of minors consuming alcoholic beverages.

The action was led by the Los Cabos Fiscal Inspection Department in response to a citizen report, as part of the reinforced surveillance operation for Holy Week.

The head of the department, Manuel Barajas Gerardo, reported that at least 15 establishments have been closed during this administration for this same reason.

The head of the department, Manuel Barajas Gerardo, reported that at least 15 establishments have been closed during this administration for this same reason, and warned that inspections will continue in the tourist areas of San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.

“I can report approximately 15 establishments have been closed for allowing minors to enter to consume alcoholic beverages. The last one was this Saturday, where we conducted an operation. Since Easter is coming up, we already gave the starting signal last Friday, so we’re working hard during the holiday season, when there will be a large influx of domestic and international tourists. That’s why we started this weekend. On Saturday, we closed the first bar for minors being found inside. This was in Cabo San Lucas,” said Gerardo Barajas.

In the event of a repeat offense, the fine will be doubled and the establishment will be permanently closed. He assured that the operations will continue in areas with a high influx of young people and tourists.
