The Norwegian Joy cruise ship arrives in Mazatlán with more than 5,900 passengers.

Coming from Los Cabos, the Norwegian Cruise Line cruise ship “Norwegian Joy” arrived at the port of Mazatlán with 4,282 passengers and 1,622 crew members on board.

Cruise Passengers Enjoy the “Pearl of the Pacific”

The ship will remain in the city until 6:00 PM, offering cruise passengers the opportunity to enjoy the sun, the beach, and the diverse tourist and culinary offerings of “The Pearl of the Pacific.”

“Mazatlán is beautiful, I would absolutely love to return,” responded some cruise passengers in English, as their native language. They expressed their delight at touring some of the port’s main attractions and the service provided by the Mazatlan residents.

The state governor, Rubén Rocha Moya, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, is working to strengthen the attractiveness of the port of Mazatlán through negotiations with major shipping companies. He seeks to ensure the continued arrival of cruise ships so new visitors can enjoy its beaches, diverse tourist attractions, and rich cuisine.

In addition, studies are being conducted to make the port suitable for receiving larger cruise ships, raising the level of tourism development in the region.

The state Tourism Department (SECTUR) detailed the first quarter of this activity as follows:

In January, 13 vessels arrived at the port with 48,351 passengers and 17,350 crew members.
In February, eight cruise ships arrived with 31,943 passengers and 10,915 crew members.

In March, Mazatlán was the port of call for 15 cruise ships with 57,579 passengers and 19,789 crew members, which generated a quarterly economic impact of 212,860,640 pesos, in precise figures.
Likewise, it was reported that a total of 12 cruise ships are scheduled for April, highlighting that five have already arrived in the first 16 days of April, totaling 19,154 passengers and 6,372 crew members.

Mazatlán is a tourist destination that offers a wide variety of options for cruise passengers, including walking along its Malecón, facing the beautiful beaches with warm waters of the Sinaloa Pacific, visiting the Machado Plaza or the Ángela Peralta Theater, the Lighthouse, or appreciating the Mazatlán Aquarium, the largest in Latin America.
