A serious vehicle accident occurred on Airport Boulevard, near the Playa Larga junction, colloquially known as “the junction of death,” where a white Siena-type pickup truck was struck by an armored vehicle.
Tourists of German origin were traveling in the private pickup truck, and four people were injured in the collision, and were taken by paramedics for medical treatment. Authorities reported no serious injuries.
The accident occurred when the Siena pickup truck crossed into a high-speed lane without due caution, causing a strong impact with the armored vehicle, which was driving right of way.
Vehicle traffic was stopped for several minutes while rescue operations were carried out. Members of the National Guard’s Highway Division arrived at the scene, took note of the incident, and conducted the corresponding investigation.
