Tampico has incorporated a new tourist attraction on the Pánuco River, offering a unique experience aboard a yacht-style vessel called the Yaqui.
This is the first time a vessel of this nature has been integrated into the city’s recreational and tourist activities, generating great interest among both residents and tourists.
What does this new experience offer?
The tour aboard the Yaqui allows you to observe a representative part of Tampico’s natural and urban environment from the Pánuco River.
During the trip, passengers can appreciate various points of historical interest, as well as the dynamism of the port and the interaction between the natural and industrial landscapes on the riverbank.
In addition, the tour is enriched with stories and narratives linked to the history of the city and the river, providing a cultural dimension to the experience.
You can enjoy representative music from the region, such as a huapanguero trio, exhibitions, as well as a period of celebration and family fun.

What is the cost of the Yaqui tour and how long does it last?
The cost of the Yaqui experience is 500 pesos per person, which covers the entire tour, panoramic views, and historical narration.
The trip lasts approximately 3 hours, providing enough time to enjoy Tampico’s natural and urban surroundings in a unique and immersive way.
In what context does this activity take place?
The Yaqui trips are part of the activities commemorating Tampico’s 202nd Anniversary.
This initiative is proposed as an innovative way to explore the city, highlighting one of its most characteristic features, the Pánuco River.
The tours run from April 17 to May 1, 2025, with scheduled departures at four times: 9:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., allowing you to choose the best option based on light and temperature conditions.

Where do the tours depart?
The boat departs from the Tourist Pier of the Old Tampico Customs House, a place of great historical and symbolic value in the city center.
This departure point connects the river experience with the urban and architectural heritage of the port, offering a memorable start to each tour.
Although this is a recent proposal, the public response has been very positive, and the interest generated has been notable, suggesting a growing demand for tourist alternatives that allow visitors to rediscover the city from a novel perspective.
The presence of national and international tourists reinforces the perception of Tampico as a tourist destination in constant transformation, capable of offering unique cultural and recreational experiences.
