San Luis Potosí is reviving its baseball tradition and, with the support of the state government, will host the 2025 MLB Cup for Children, organized by Major League Baseball, from April 21 to 26.

This tournament, considered one of the most important in the world, will bring together 24 teams from different entities, including the prominent participation of the San Luis Little Baseball League, and will bring together more than 400 girls and boys between the ages of 11 and 12, in a true sporting celebration that will consolidate San Luis Potosí as a national benchmark in children’s baseball.

The venue for this major event will be the new Potosí Baseball Park at Tangamanga Uno Park: a new, first-class sports facility consisting of six fully equipped fields ready to comfortably and professionally host this important match.

Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona announced that this complex will be inaugurated this Monday, before the start of the national team competition. He emphasized that, in addition to its sporting significance, the 2025 MLB Cup for Children represents a significant economic and tourism boost by welcoming not only the participating teams but also their families, companions, and visitors, generating economic benefits in key sectors such as hotels, restaurants, and local commerce.

He added that this tournament has previously been held in countries such as China, Japan, and India and will feature international coverage this year through ESPN and Disney, which will allow San Luis Potosí to be showcased on global stages.

With events of this magnitude, the entity honors its historic baseball vocation, remembering emblematic teams like Los Tuneros de San Luis, founded in 1926, whose history in the Mexican Baseball League left an indelible mark on local fans.
