Magical Towns, spas, and more: Puebla welcomes more than a million tourists

During this Easter holiday, Puebla consolidated its position as one of the country’s top tourist destinations, ranking fifth nationwide in terms of visitor numbers, according to the state’s Tourism Secretariat.

According to official estimates, the state is expected to exceed one million visitors, representing a 15% increase compared to the same period last year. The projected economic impact is 1.173 billion pesos, an increase of more than 20% compared to 2024.

Rising hotel occupancy and mass events

The head of the department, Yadira Lira Navarro, explained that Puebla currently ranks sixth nationwide in terms of the number of overnight tourists, and an average hotel occupancy rate of 67.18% is expected, with peaks of up to 100% in some destinations in the state’s interior.

One of the most representative religious events of the season was the traditional Good Friday procession, which celebrated its 33rd edition this year. The event brought together more than 160,000 people, including domestic and international tourists, who filled the streets of the Historic Center of Puebla.

Lira Navarro reiterated the invitation to local, national, and international tourists to take advantage of the last days of the holiday season and discover the state’s tourist wealth. She highlighted the wide range of activities, which include:
