The Plaza del Carmen in San Luis Potosí was the setting for one of the most colorful and crowded nights of Holy Week during the traditional Burning of Judas 2025, organized by the State Government through the Ministry of Culture. Hundreds of attendees, both locals and visitors, enjoyed a spectacle filled with music, lights, and tradition.

The event was highlighted by the burning of 37 handcrafted figures, which, when they burst into flames, lit up the night and generated applause and cheers from the audience. The atmosphere was enriched by performances by the State Government Band and the 11 Vientos Band, whose melodies accompanied the celebration.

In parallel, the 23rd Aztec Dance Gathering was held on the esplanade of the National Mask Museum, where groups such as “Huitzilopochtli,” the “Xochiquetzal” Folkloric Ballet from the Potosí Institute of Fine Arts, as well as the “Macuilxochitl” and “Almayab” ensembles, and the “Xaman-Ek” folkloric company, offered a performance steeped in symbolism and cultural roots.

Mario García Valdez, Secretary of Culture, highlighted the commitment to strengthening and disseminating the state’s artistic and cultural expressions, consolidating San Luis Potosí as an emblematic destination during the Holy Week celebrations.
