Scoundrels: Mexico and Ecuador see fraud and democracy in Venezuela.

2

Daniel Noboa’s landslide victory in Ecuador has divided and weakened the most radical and reluctant sectors of the Latin American left. Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and Nicaragua raise the flag of fraud without evidence or clues. The rest of the world leaves them alone in their conspiracy.

Double standards. Mexico, which during López Obrador’s administration and now under Claudia Sheinbaum, had criticized the OAS, now embraces it to create a false narrative of doubt and deceit about Daniel Noboa’s victory by more than 10 points.

Colombia and the madness of a conspiracy. President Gustavo Petro has said he does not recognize Daniel Noboa’s victory, that there was fraud and a state of siege. Serious. However, his Foreign Minister contradicts him and celebrates the democratic victory in Ecuador.

Petro is living his own hellish hell. He has lost authority inside and outside Colombia, defends drug traffickers, terrorists, and even the Aragua Train. His own officials confront and contradict him. Yet, he criticizes democracy in Ecuador.

Nicolás Maduro’s Venezuela speaks of fraud, militarization, and a lack of democracy. Yes, Maduro, the same man who sent 8 million Venezuelans into exile and committed gross electoral fraud a few months ago, now speaks of democracy. A shameless Olympian.

Daniel Ortega, who governs Nicaragua with his wife House of Cards-style and represses Stalin-style, now speaks of a dictatorship in Ecuador. He claims there was fraud and that the popular will was not respected.

Nicaragua criticizing Ecuador is something that makes you want to laugh and cry. A regime that recently eliminated all powers of the state and established a constitutional monarchy now criticizes Ecuador’s democracy. Irrational.

Brazil distanced itself from the conspiracies of Petro and Sheinbaum. “I salute the Ecuadorian people and reelected President Daniel Noboa for Sunday’s elections. Brazil will continue working with Ecuador in defense of multilateralism, South American integration, and sustainable development.”

President Gabriel Boric also acknowledged Daniel Noboa’s victory. “From Chile, we salute the Ecuadorian people for their democratic participation yesterday. I congratulate President-elect Daniel Noboa on this new term that begins.”

Honduras also acknowledged Daniel Noboa’s victory. Leftist Xiomara Castro distanced herself from conspiracy theories about fraud in Mexico, Colombia, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

“I have instructed the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Enrique Reina, to begin a process of rapprochement with the government of President Daniel Noboa, with the goal of rebuilding and strengthening bilateral relations between the Republic of Honduras and the sister Republic of Ecuador,” Xiomara Castro stated.

China and Russia congratulated Ecuador and re-elected President Daniel Noboa. This is a cold shower for Mexico and Colombia, which appear orphaned and humiliated by their apocryphal arguments of fraud and shortcomings.

The fracture of the socialist left is real. We saw this in a deliberative but inconclusive CELAC. We saw it in its omissions and complicity with Maduro in Venezuela, and it became irrefutable in the face of disagreements over Daniel Noboa’s landslide victory in Ecuador.

We are living in historic times. The left is crumbling and pulverizing in real time. It is an irreversible and irreparable trend. It happened in Argentina, Ecuador, and very soon in Honduras, Bolivia, and Chile. No one can stop this. Better times are coming.
