Governor Ricardo Gallardo Cardona announced that the construction and expansion of the Tampico-Ciudad Valles highway, as well as the Tamazunchale-Huejutla-Pachuca routes, are among the eight priority projects that the Federation will promote as part of the new Plan Mexico, led by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
Gallardo emphasized that these projects are part of a national effort to accelerate public works with a focus on regional connectivity and economic development.
Plan Mexico on Public Infrastructure
In total, the plan includes 1,970 kilometers of new roads and the rehabilitation of 44,000 kilometers of federal highway network, as part of an infrastructure strategy that seeks to transform mobility throughout the country.
The State Executive indicated that his administration will monitor the progress of these key projects for San Luis Potosí, as they are expected to boost the local economy and improve connections with neighboring states.
In addition, he announced the creation of 114 artisanal roads that will directly benefit Indigenous communities and Native Peoples of the state.
As a complementary part of Plan Mexico, the construction of new passenger train lines is also planned.
One of these is the Mexico City–Querétaro route, in which San Luis Potosí will have a strategic role. The governor considered this project an opportunity to further integrate the state into the pillars of national development.
Vision according to the president and the government
“The vision of President Claudia Sheinbaum and the State Government reflects a commitment to sustainable and inclusive development that benefits all Mexicans,” Gallardo stated.
He assured that his government will work in coordination with the Federation to ensure that these projects are carried out on time and in a timely manner, with a high social and economic impact.
