The region has been experiencing a surge in luxury tourism, driven by an influx of high-net-worth travelers seeking unique and personalized experiences.

According to recent statistics, Los Cabos International Airport has seen a significant increase in air arrivals, with 2 million passengers recorded during the first three months of 2025. This represents growth compared to the same period last year, with private aircraft arrivals being a notable segment. These visitors tend to yield greater economic benefits due to their high spending power.

Rodrigo Esponda, director of FITURCA (Los Cabos Tourism Trust), notes that the destination is enjoying a strong start to the year. Private plane arrivals have risen by 3 percent in the first quarter, with ultra-luxury hotel occupancy increasing by 5 percent as a result.

“This trend is very positive for the destination,” Esponda said. “We’re consistently attracting a more affluent traveler profile that’s seeking unique experiences such as gastronomy, golf, sport fishing, and close interaction with nature – all of which are hallmarks of what sets Los Cabos apart from other destinations in Mexico.”

Looking ahead to the next six months, expectations remain bright. FITURCA has confirmed that seats are already scheduled for the destination through September, indicating a significant increase.

“We’re seeing a 13 percent growth in registered seats from the United States to Los Cabos, 9 percent in the domestic market, and 3 percent from Canada,” Esponda said. “This shows that there’s still a strong preference among both foreign and domestic visitors to come to the destination.”

The Tourism Trust emphasizes the importance of maintaining the destination’s quality, cleanliness, and services to uphold its positive reputation. Sectors across the tourism industry must remain focused on delivering exceptional experiences for visitors.

With its unique blend of luxury amenities, stunning natural beauty, and unparalleled service, Los Cabos is solidifying its position as Mexico’s premier luxury tourist destination. As visitor numbers continue to grow, the region is poised to establish itself as a top-tier destination for high-end travelers.
