At an event led by the Governor of the State of Nuevo León, Samuel García, and attended by Maricarmen Martínez, Secretary of Tourism; Glen Villarreal, Director General of Parks and Wildlife; and Alejandra Morales, General Director of CODETUR, the “Arráncate x Nuevo León” program was officially launched on the morning of Friday, April 25.

The Governor announced that there will be tours to tourist sites in the state every Saturday, seeking to promote local culture and tourism among citizens. The first bus departed at that time, bound for Xenpal, an archaeological site very close to the García Caves, which also houses a Wildlife Conservation Center in the Sierra del Fraile, about 45 minutes from Monterrey.

According to the Governor, we will see an exponential increase in tourism in 2026 due to the FIFA World Cup, where Mexico will be one of the three venues to host the event. Infrastructure investments throughout the state aim to serve the more than 2 million people who will be welcomed during the event. He noted that “the most important thing is the people of Nuevo León because the World Cup lasts a month and then ends, and we want to leave a legacy and enjoy what Nuevo León has to offer.”

An invitation was also extended to state-owned stores to register for the Arráncate x Nuevo León program, so they can participate in the opportunities that the Ministry of Tourism is integrating into Nuevo León municipalities, especially those with popular tourist spots.

Thus, it is expected that there will be a visit to different emblematic sites each week, including the García Caves, the Bustamante Caves, the Cola de Caballo Ecotourism Park, the La Boca and Cuchillo dams, La Estanzuela Park, and the state’s Magical Towns. The projection is to offer 175 trips before the end of the year.

At the event, it was announced that tours will have a maximum capacity of 200 people, and each bus will have a tour guide for each participating group. It was also confirmed that they will continue to provide discount cards that can be used at these destinations, including paying for admission to these sites. The amounts offered range from 20% to 50% off, depending on the destination.

In his speech, García added that other benefits would occasionally be offered, such as free admission for everyone or free admission for minors. “We want to see more and more discounts, more and more prizes,” the leader added. The cards are being distributed through tourist brigades or through digital means on social media.
