As a surprise for the people of Zacatecas by Governor David Monreal Ávila, given the high audience demand generated by its first performance at the Fernando Calderón Theater, the Queen Symphonic concert will be held this Saturday, April 26, free of charge, in Plaza de Armas, so that thousands of Zacatecans can enjoy this magnificent event.

The Zacatecas State Chamber Orchestra and Choir, as well as the Britania Quintet, under the guest and choral artistic direction of Alfredo Ibarra and José Manuel Delgadillo, respectively, will perform masterfully this Saturday, April 26th, at the 39th Zacatecas Cultural Wellbeing Festival 2025.

The same stage that has brought together thousands of attendees with its stellar program at FCZ 2025 will be energized by the participation of the choral and orchestral groups, along with the Britania Quintet, comprised of Marco Antonio Díaz, Samantha Beltrán, Manuel Fernández, Luis García, Jesús Callejas, and Juan Carlos González, in a unique fusion performance in Zacatecas for the second time.

The Director of the Zacatecas Institute of Culture “Ramón López Velarde,” María de Jesús Muñoz, announced that the program promises a musical journey filled with intensity and passion, beginning with a solemn performance of “God Save the Queen,” an extraordinary opening to a night of hits from one of rock’s most iconic bands. The combination of choral power, instrumental excellence, and the charisma of the Britania Quintet promises to be an unforgettable evening.

Alfredo Ibarra, renowned for his international career spanning Europe and the Americas, brings to the project his vast experience as an orchestral conductor, supported by studies at the National Conservatory of Music and institutions in the Netherlands and Germany, as well as a distinguished career leading Mexican and European orchestras.

José Manuel Delgadillo, a graduate of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas (UAZ) and currently artistic director of its Academic Arts Unit, adds his talent as a choral conductor and opera singer, consolidating the event’s artistic level.

Likewise, the Britania Quintet, with over four decades of history, has performed on iconic stages such as the National Auditorium, the Degollado Theater, and the legendary The Cavern Club in Liverpool. It has performed with figures such as B.B. King and Marc Martel, and tonight it will put its unmistakable stamp on the Zacatecas celebration.

The Queen Sinfónico Zacatecas is not only a tribute to the music of Queen, but also a celebration of the talent and passion that have defined the Zacatecas State Choir for 15 years.
