Travel between Querétaro and Spain is about to become more convenient with the introduction of a direct flight route to Madrid, announced by Iberojet, a subsidiary of Ávoris Corporación Empresarial.
The new route follows efforts to promote international connectivity spearheaded by Querétaro’s Governor, Mauricio Kuri González, during his visit to Spain earlier this year. Though the exact launch date has yet to be confirmed, this milestone is expected to enhance links between Europe and central Mexico. The route will be operated using an Airbus A350.
Mario Domínguez, Iberojet’s commercial director of scheduled flights, underlined the significance of this initiative, describing it as a move beyond transportation. “The opening of the Madrid-Querétaro route is a commitment to bringing cultures closer together, facilitating economic exchange, and diversifying access options to Mexico from Europe. Querétaro has everything it needs to consolidate itself as a key destination,” he stated.
In addition to this new link, Iberojet currently offers flights from Madrid, Barcelona, and Lisbon to Cancún. The airline, part of the Barceló consortium, is well-regarded for its focus on vacation tourism and high-quality, personalized travel experiences.
The new route is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening cultural and economic exchanges, marking another step forward in establishing Querétaro as a significant hub for international travel.
