This Monday, the 49th edition of the Mexico 2025 Tourism Fair opened in Baja California, for the first time in the north of the country, in Rosarito Beach on the Pacific Ocean.

This year, the binational format will also be inaugurated, with simultaneous venues in Rosarito and the “Window in Mexico” in San Diego, California, in the United States.

“The tourism fair is not only the most important tourism event in our country; it is a firm and decisive declaration: Mexico is stronger, more prepared, and more committed than ever to tourism that transforms, unites, and builds the future. Mexico is in fashion.”
Josefina Rodríguez / Federal Secretary of Tourism

Similarly, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) revealed that participation figures for this Tourism Fair exceeded projections from a few months ago, almost quadrupling the number of exhibitors and increasing the number of buyers and the number of countries.

“The success of this Tianguis is seen, felt, and confirmed by 32 national entities present, 3,216 exhibitors from 1,259 companies, 1,700 buyers from 1,154 companies, 75,000 business meetings, and we’re going for more. 44 countries are present, with a daily attendance of 10,000 people and an economic impact of more than 1.35 billion pesos.”

For his part, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Juan Ramón de la Fuente, reported that tourism promotion will be carried out abroad through Mexican embassies and consulates.

“We are going to make Mexican diplomacy a diplomacy that considers tourism as one of its priorities in the present and in the coming years.”

They also indicated that they seek to promote community tourism, which represents a main source of development for many communities.

“Tourism represents the livelihood of millions of families and is the driving force behind businesses of all sizes and industries, from multinational corporations to artisanal ventures in remote communities.”
