Within the framework of the Tourism Tianguis, Ensenada has signed twinning agreements with the municipalities of La Paz and Los Cabos in Baja California Sur, as well as letters of intent with the states of San Luis Potosí, Oaxaca, and Cozumel.

The mayor of Ensenada, Claudia Agatón Muñiz, emphasized the importance of these twinning agreements, as they will allow her to clearly understand how to achieve greater development, technology, culture, and social inclusion.

She specified that the goal is to share the tourism market, which, for example, La Paz has many similarities, including demographics, especially in the case of tourism and fishing, with Ensenada, which will be a watershed like Los Cabos.

The mayor of Ensenada expressed her gratitude to each of the signatories, saying she is convinced that great things can be done for the different destinations, all of which share the same vision.

Present at the twinning agreement signing were Christian Agúndez Gómez from Los Cabos; Raymundo Chagoya Villanueva from Oaxaca de Juárez; José Luis Chacón Núñez from Cozumel, Quintana Roo; and representatives of the mayors of Puebla de Zaragoza and Cancún.

San Quintín Signs Twinning Agreement with Quintana Roo

San Quintín, Baja California, also signed twinning agreements with Bacalar, Quintana Roo. The mayor of Bacalar, Miriam Cano, considered it important to share knowledge, especially with a municipality that is implementing public policies, to improve its operations.

José Alfredo Contreras Méndez, mayor of Bacalar, said that while he is not familiar with San Quintín, he is aware of its extensive tourist offerings and they agree on the coastlines they offer, as they have 20 kilometers of beach and 58 kilometers of the Laguna de los 7 Colores (Lake of the Seven Colors).

He emphasized that they have implemented the Sanitation Law, which helps them generate more revenue and allows them to address key issues for municipal administration, such as environmental issues, garbage collection, and landfills, which are a key weakness for municipal governments. These experiences can be shared.
