During his weekly press conference, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya described Easter Week in Sinaloa as very successful, with a clean bill and a large influx of vacationers, as well as International Motorcycle Week in Mazatlán. He highlighted that the state’s resorts, rivers, dams, Magical and Stately Towns, and beaches were heavily influxed with tourists who enjoyed their rides safely and peacefully.

It should be noted that during Easter Week, four cruise ships arrived in Mazatlán, with a total of 13,783 cruise passengers who enjoyed the Pearl of the Pacific.

According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, during the Easter period, Sinaloa received a total of 2.4 million visitors, with hotel occupancy at 83 percent in the state and 91 percent in Mazatlán, and a statewide economic impact of 3.2 billion pesos.

“Motorcycle Week was very successful, with a clean bill of health and a significant turnout, just like Holy Week, the entire Easter week, and Carnival,” said Rocha, emphasizing that nearly 15,000 motorcyclists gathered in Mazatlán, where, in addition to enjoying the destination, there were artistic performances, parades, and motorcycle exhibitions.

He also highlighted that the influx of vacationers during this period was 450,000 visitors to Sinaloa, of whom 194,000 chose the port of Mazatlán as their destination, representing a hotel occupancy rate of 86% and an economic impact of 922 million pesos for that tourist destination alone. Statewide, an estimated economic impact of 1.195 billion pesos and a hotel occupancy rate of 74% was recorded.

“I am grateful for the security operations mounted by the Army, the National Guard, the Navy, and our state, municipal, and local police forces, because they have yielded positive results. We have been able to hold events peacefully, and people have mobilized,” the president stated.
