In presenting his 2024 activities report to the State Congress, Yucatán Attorney General Juan Manuel León León pointed out that the agency receives more than 5,000 complaints each month, which means “we are breaking the inertia and building public trust.”

The transformation of the Attorney General’s Office puts the citizen at the center: to be a friendly, dignified, and efficient institution,” he stated.

Therefore, he indicated that nine agencies have been modernized: Cordemex, Fidel Velázquez, and San José Tecoh in Mérida, and Kanasín, Maxcanú, Umán, Tekax, and Motul in the interior of the state.

He highlighted the creation of the Citizen Service Directorate, which already has 19 modules and a 24-hour Citizen Service Line. This strategy has already registered more than 420,000 citizens served.

“We have committed to scientific truth with the acquisition of equipment such as the VIVA-E Pro Spectrometer, the Infrared Light Spectrometer, the Scanning Electron Microscope, and DNA Quantification and Purification Equipment, with an investment of more than 10.6 million pesos,” he indicated.

He added that the FGE has joined the state program through various Crime Prevention programs. “Allies for Life,” which addresses sensitive issues such as femicide, digital violence, and animal abuse.

For his part, the director of the Yucatán Transportation Agency (ATY), José Jacinto Sosa Novelo, emphasized that public transportation must be an instrument to combat inequality and ensure that no one in Yucatán is left behind due to lack of access to safe transportation.

We are going to change things, to restore order, to reclaim public transportation as a right, not as a business or a commodity. We will not allow families to continue to bear the cost of irresponsibility, political haste, and improvisation,” he concluded before local representatives.
