The state of Colima, within the framework of the first day of the 2025 Tourism Fair and with support from the Undersecretariat of Tourism and the State Trust for Tourism Promotion, presented an extensive agenda of events and activities that will take place throughout 2025.
Festival will paint the sky of Manzanillo with color
During 2024, the state registered an increase in the influx of national and international visitors, with more than 1.5 million in Colima and an economic impact of 5.375 billion pesos.
For 2025, tourism figures are expected to continue growing thanks to the event program on various beaches in the state:
What festivities will there be in Colima?
The Coastal Kite Festival, which will take place on May 24 and 25, will be held at Playa Azul, next to Plaza Punto Bahía in Manzanillo. The event will feature giant kites of various shapes and designs, as well as other activities with live music and local cuisine.
For surfing-focused athletes, the Professional Surf & Bodyboard Circuit will feature three surfing tournaments, where the king and queen of surfing will be determined.
The first tournament, “Kings of Summer,” will take place from July 18 to 20 at Playa Olas Altas in Manzanillo; while the second, known as “Paradise of the Waves,” will take place on October 18 and 19 at Playa Paraíso in Armería. The third will be completed by the “Clásico de Pascuales,” from November 14 to 16 at Playa Pascuales in Tecomán.
On the other hand, Colima has a Day of the Dead celebration planned with the 86th edition of the All Saints’ Fair, which will take place from October 31st to November 17th at the Palenque fairgrounds located on Avenida Héroes de Chapultepec in the La Estancia neighborhood of the state capital.
As in previous years, there will be musical offerings at the traditional Palenque; a trade, livestock, craft, and food expo; mechanical rides, contests, family attractions, and free shows at the Teatro del Pueblo.
What events will be held in Manzanillo in 2025?
From November 27th to 29th, the Historic Center of Manzanillo will host the 72nd International Sport Fishing Tournament, bringing together the best in the region to sail the waters of Colima and test their skills.
The tournament is expected to offer cash prizes per day in the categories of Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna, and Dorado, as well as recognition for outstanding performances during the competition.
Another event will be the 18th Zanate Festival, scheduled for November, which will feature a series of documentaries as part of an independent film lineup that seeks to be inclusive and thought-provoking.
The port city will also host the Manzanillo Open Challenger Tour, becoming an epicenter of Mexican tennis thanks to this international tournament of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which will take place from November 23 to 30 on the courts of the Hotel Las Hadas. This event will be the tennis players’ pathway to the ATP World Tour.
Manzanillo will also host another sporting event from November 20 to 25, where national and international drivers will gather for the VIII Rally Colima.
Finally, Colima has its New Year’s Eve party planned in one of Mexico’s most important ports.
The sky above Colima’s beaches is expected to be filled with light and color with amazing drone displays, accompanied by a fireworks display that will illuminate every corner of the bays of Manzanillo and Santiago, and the Sailfish Monument in the city’s Historic Center.
