A group of civilians blocked the bridge over the Baluarte River on the Mazatlán-Tepic freeway this Wednesday afternoon, using vehicles to completely close the road.
The blockade took place in front of a base of the Investigative Police of the State Attorney General’s Office.
The incident was confirmed by the Sinaloa Public Security Secretariat in a statement.
The closure occurred on the federal highway connecting southern Sinaloa with northern Nayarit. The obstruction disrupted traffic in both directions and raised concerns among drivers traveling in the area.
In response to the report, federal, state, and municipal authorities launched an operation to remove the vehicles, clear the road, and establish surveillance in the area.
So far, no arrests or damage to the road have been reported.
