Security forces from all three levels of government dismantled a makeshift organized crime camp in the municipality of Rosario, Sinaloa, after an armed group blocked the bridge over the Baluarte River on the Mazatlán-Tepic freeway.

The State Public Security Secretariat reported that armed civilians blocked traffic by placing several vehicles on the asphalt of the bridge in the southernmost part of the state. This action disrupted traffic on a key communication route between Sinaloa and Nayarit.

Following the report, members of the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and state and municipal police responded to the site, clearing the road and restoring traffic. Although no one was arrested during the operation, heavy surveillance remains in place in the area.

Hours later, in the community of Matatán, military personnel located a property used as a temporary camp by organized crime groups. 564 live rounds were seized at the scene, and the site was subsequently destroyed.

Authorities have not revealed whether there are any lines of investigation related to this discovery, but confirmed that patrols in the region will continue to prevent further acts of violence.
