Two cruise ships arrived on the coast of Guerrero today: one in Acapulco with more than 500 people on board, and the second in Zihuatanejo, with nearly 800 crew members. These vessels will be the first to arrive during the month of May 2025.
According to information from the state and municipal tourism departments, the Odyssey arrived with 250 passengers and 218 crew members from Huatulco, Oaxaca. Its final destination is Manzanillo, Colima.
This is a “cruise-condominium,” in which the owners decide the routes and overnight stays, having selected the port of Acapulco as one of the destinations to visit, where they will remain until Saturday, May 10.
In addition, this is the seventh cruise ship to arrive in the port of Acapulco this season. According to the maritime authorities’ schedule, the arrival of 10 more vessels is expected throughout the remainder of the year.
Meanwhile, in Zihuatanejo, around 7:00 a.m. this Friday, the Malta-flagged cruise ship Europa Dos arrived with a total of 786 people on board, comprising 422 passengers and 364 crew members. The vessel arrived from Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, and is bound for Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala.
This is the second cruise ship of the season to arrive at the port of Zihuatanejo de Azueta, with an estimated departure time of 4:00 p.m.
Through her social media, the governor of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado Pineda, acknowledged this arrival and reaffirmed her commitment to promoting tourism, emphasizing that Guerrero is and will continue to be the “Home of the Sun,” a destination to enchant.
