Mazatlán reaffirms its position as one of the most attractive destinations in the Mexican Pacific for international tourism. So far this year, more than 183,000 cruise passengers have disembarked at the port, generating an economic impact exceeding 285 million pesos, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Sinaloa.

A bulletin reported that the month of May started strongly and showed clear signs of growth. On Tuesday the 6th, the luxurious MS Europa 2, one of the most exclusive cruise ships in the world, arrived for the first time. Departing from Los Cabos and bound for Puerto Vallarta, it brought 422 passengers and 364 crew members on board. Renowned for its sophistication, haute cuisine, and boutique routes, the MS Europa 2 chose Mazatlán as a strategic stopover, confirming the Sinaloa port’s growing prestige in high-end tourism.

A day later, the Carnival Panorama, one of the most representative giants of the cruise industry in the Americas, docked again in Mazatlán with 4,399 passengers and 1,407 crew members on board, reinforcing the steady flow of international visitors to this destination.

With 48 cruise ships welcomed so far in 2025 and five more scheduled for May alone, Mazatlán is not only experiencing a great moment: it is emerging as a key player on the country’s tourism map. This trend is the result of a state strategy focused on elevating the visitor experience, diversifying the tourism offering, and showcasing the cultural, natural, and human richness of Sinaloa to the world.

Cruise tourism is not only returning: in Mazatlán, it is reinventing itself.
