The School of Architecture and Design of Anáhuac University Puebla proudly announces its participation in the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia 2025, one of the most prestigious events in global architectural thought. The institution will be represented by a project developed by students who, through rigorous academic practice, successfully integrated tradition, technology, and identity into a proposal that engages with the future.
Under this edition’s motto “Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.” the internal competition convened 17 teams made up of more than 50 students from different undergraduate programs. In just one week, they presented ephemeral or parametric pavilions capable of reflecting on contemporary challenges. The winning team was selected by a high-level international jury composed of renowned architects such as Julio Gaeta, Luby Springall, and Daniel Bonilla.
The award-winning proposal offers an immersive experience inspired by Mexican looms, incorporating materials and sounds that evoke collective memory and sensory interaction with the visitor. This piece not only highlights the country’s cultural richness but also explores how architecture can evolve without losing its roots in nature and humanity.
It is worth noting that, for the participating students, in addition to showcasing their talent, it is an opportunity to share an ethical, critical, and creative vision of architecture, centered on the person, the environment, and social transformation.
The members of the winning team, Sofía Fernández, Carlos Cacho, Irune Rugarcía, and Naiara Alcalá, all fourth-semester Architecture students, have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to purposeful design. Their project embodies the leadership values of positive action, Mexican identity, and vision for the future that characterize education at Anáhuac Puebla University.
Anáhuac Puebla reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence, international outreach, and the training of architects capable of imagining and building a more just, beautiful, and conscious world.
