A suspected criminal was killed and seven individuals were arrested in a clash between armed civilians and the State Police in the rural community of Cacahuatepec, Oaxaca.
The armed confrontation between the State Police and alleged criminals from the criminal group “Los Rusos” occurred yesterday afternoon in this rural area.
It was reported that the operation took place while police officers from the Oaxaca Public Security Secretariat (SSP) were patrolling the rural area.
Weapons, tactical equipment, and a vehicle belonging to the alleged members of a criminal group who were in the area were seized at the scene.
SSP authorities emphasized that this is a significant blow against organized crime in the rural region, specifically against the criminal group known as “Los Rusos.”
The State Police continue working to maintain security and order in the rural area of the Cacahuatepec communal property, which includes 48 ejido annexes.
It is emphasized that the Cacahuatepec region remains a focus of attention for federal, state, and ministerial authorities due to the presence of criminal groups.
