The second edition of the 2025 Caribbean Trova Festival was held in Bacalar on May 10 and 11, bringing together renowned exponents of the trova genre from across Mexico and beyond. The festival, organized by the Quintana Roo State Government through its Institute of Culture and the Arts, provided a platform for artists to showcase their regional, national, and international offerings.
At the closing ceremony of the festival, Colima’s artistic talent shone bright, thanks to the efforts of the Undersecretariat of Culture of the Government of the State of Colima. Singer-songwriter Luany and musician Krizz Loop represented the state, delivering a spectacular concert on Sunday, May 11, alongside distinguished artists such as Fernando Delgadillo, Pedro Guerra, and David Aguilar.
Luany expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to share an acoustic version of her songs and some of her poems at the festival. The performance marked a significant milestone in her career, and she plans to take much of the repertoire from this show on tour next weekend (May 17 and 18) as part of the Colima Festival at Los Pinos 2025.
Undersecretary of Culture Emiliano Zizumbo Quintanilla reaffirmed his institution’s commitment to promoting local artists nationally, emphasizing that this is a top priority for the state administration led by Governor Indira Vizcaíno Silva. He also extended his gratitude to the Institute of Culture and the Arts of the Government of Quintana Roo, directed by Lilian Villanueva Chan, for their support and facilities, which made this valuable opportunity possible for Colima’s artists.
The Undersecretariat’s efforts have paved the way for future collaborations between Colima and Quintana Roo in promoting local talent and cultural exchange.
