The Mexican Caribbean destination is seeking to boost the South American market with new routes from Venezuela’s Barquisimeto and Maracaibo cities.

Conviasa Airlines has announced direct flights from these two Venezuelan cities to Cancun International Airport. Flights from Maracaibo will begin on July 2, operating twice a week, while flights from Barquisimeto will start on July 3, with one weekly frequency.

Conviasa passengers traveling on Embraer 190 aircraft will be allowed only one piece of checked baggage weighing up to 23 kg. The fare for this service ranges from $226 to $270 per person, one way. Additionally, Conviasa offers connections between Caracas and Cancun, operating twice a week.

In April, the airline announced it was discontinuing its route to Cuba, which had been in operation since 2023. However, Conviasa will continue to operate direct flights between Moscow and Caracas.

According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), the last flight from Moscow to Caracas with a stopover in Havana took place on April 28.
