In an effort to bring culture to every corner of Mérida, the city council has announced the Olimpo 2025 Season, a comprehensive program featuring hundreds of free activities taking place from May to December. According to Mayor Cecilia Patrón Laviada, this inclusive project allows everyone to participate and showcase their artistic talents.

With a budget allocated from municipal resources, young and experienced creators will have the opportunity to bring their projects to life. The city council’s goal is to provide a platform for local artists to express themselves, ensuring that talented individuals are not limited by lack of resources or opportunities.

Throughout the season, 188 local artists will present 160 artistic performances and lead 42 workshops open to the public at 15 venues across Mérida and its surrounding districts. The events will feature a diverse range of activities, including music, theater, drawing, film, and more.

One of the unique aspects of this initiative is that all proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to the artists, who are all local talents with no external influence. This emphasis on supporting local creators allows them to showcase their work and gain exposure without being limited by commercial interests.

The full schedule of activities can be found on the official website merida.gob.mx/cultura, providing easy access for residents and visitors to plan their participation in this exciting cultural program. By making culture accessible to everyone, Mérida aims to foster a sense of community and creativity that benefits both local artists and citizens alike.
