One person is missing and 10 were rescued after a boat sank in Mazatlán this afternoon. Rescue and support protocols were activated.
The missing person was identified as Brayan “N,” 17, and Arely “N,” 18, was taken to the pier to be taken to a hospital.
Members of the Municipal Public Security Secretariat participated in the rescue, through the Aquatic Rescue Squadron and ENSAR personnel from the Navy Secretariat.
“Gustavo Espinoza Bastidas, head of the aquatic group, reported that a rip current formed near a sunken boat near the Estrella Del Mar Hotel pulled 11 people into the area, who were in an area unsuitable for swimmers. Therefore, the timely response of the lifeguards managed to bring 10 of them to dry land, where they received medical evaluation. Unfortunately, one was lost in the waves,” a statement said.
The accident occurred at 2:20 p.m., and search protocols were activated.

– Jesús Antonio “N,” 29, a resident of Lomas del Ébano.
– Pedro Antonio “N,” 17, a resident of Lomas del Ébano.
– Óscar Israel “N,” 17, a resident of Lomas del Ébano.
– Jesús Eduardo “N,” 17, a resident of Lomas del Ébano.
– Ángel Osvaldo “N,” 14, a resident of Lázaro Cárdenas Street.
– Jesús Adrián “N,” 17, a resident of Lomas del Ébano.
– Martín “N,” 33, a resident of Lomas del Ébano.
