Nayarit’s Secretary of Tourism, Juan Enrique del Real Tostado, revealed last Monday, May 12, that the state is in negotiations for the arrival of a residential complex for the luxury brand Versace. However, what caught the most attention was that the project would not be located in Riviera Nayarit, the state’s main tourist destination, but rather in northern Nayarit, specifically in Tecuala.
Del Real Tostado clarified that there is still no complete certainty about the development’s arrival, although a decision is expected in the next two weeks. However, he stated that the process is progressing favorably, with key elements such as the land acquisition and a strong interest in the brand establishing its first residential complex in Mexico on Nayarit’s northern coast.
“Just last week, we received notification that the Versace residential development will be built in Mexico. It will be the first one here on the coast. We received that information… again, it’s not that it’s a given, it’s simply that the mechanism is in place, the property is already there, and they’re looking to promote the brand. So, if this news materializes, in the next two weeks we would have a new development of international stature. Note that this investment is not in Nuevo Nayarit, but in the north of the state.”
The official added that the state governor recently visited the northern region, accompanied by major investors, who toured areas such as Tecuala and San Blas. During the visit, they were shown the potential for tourism and economic growth in these regions, as well as in Compostela.
Del Real Tostado justified the interest in this area by arguing that conditions already exist for luxury investments, as demonstrated by the development of exclusive subdivisions on Novillero Beach, considered the longest in Mexico.
