Puerto Vallarta is consolidating its position as an important tourist destination nationwide, as evidenced by the growth in cruise ship arrivals.
According to the State Government’s Ministry of Tourism, in the first four months of 2025, Puerto Vallarta welcomed 76 cruise ships, transporting more than 237,000 cruise passengers, with an estimated economic impact exceeding 412,687,000 pesos.
This figure represents a 12 percent increase compared to the first four months of 2024, the agency reported.
According to data from the National Port System Administration (ASIPONA), 65,953 people arrived in Puerto Vallarta aboard 23 cruise ships in April, representing 7.8 percent more passengers than in April 2024.
Visitors left an estimated economic impact of more than 113 million pesos, which is 14.2 percent more than in the same month in 2024.
“With these figures, Jalisco reaffirms its leadership in the sector with a wide range of amenities for visitors to enjoy,” the agency stated.
