The city of Querétaro is set to shine at the Mexico in Playa del Carmen festival, a national celebration showcasing the best of Mexican art, music, traditions, and cuisine. The Municipality of Querétaro has been invited as special guest for the first edition of the event, which will take place from May 24 to 31.
This cultural initiative is the result of a collaboration agreement between the Municipality of Querétaro and the City of Playa del Carmen. The partnership aims to promote Querétaro’s cultural identity in new spaces through events, exhibitions, and artistic expression.
At a press conference in Playa del Carmen, Dani Salgado, Secretary of Culture for the Municipality of Querétaro, expressed enthusiasm about the event, stating that it sets an important precedent for cultural exchanges across Mexico. “Querétaro Week will mark a milestone in the cultural life of our municipalities,” she said. “We are proud to be the first state invited to this national celebration, and we believe that culture has the power to break down barriers, promote peace, and transform communities.”
During the festival, visitors can expect an exciting lineup of performances, including concerts by Madera Viva, Korazound, Blues la Conexión, and Trio Huapango Gorrión Huasteco. The performing arts scene will feature shows by Circo Teatro, Atabal Teatro, and Teatrito La Carcajada, while children’s activities will include storytelling and a performance by Los Banyasos.
The Querétaro Visual Arts Collective will showcase visual works, and food and craft samples will be available. The Municipal Folkloric Ballet and concert voices representing Querétaro’s vocal talent will also participate in the event.
This collaboration between the Municipality of Querétaro and the City of Playa del Carmen reaffirms the commitment to promoting local talent and traditions beyond its borders, fostering cultural diversity as a means for dialogue, coexistence, and community development.
