Three clashes between organized crime groups on Thursday afternoon and evening left vehicles burned and 342 spent shell casings from high-caliber firearms in the municipal seat of Guachochi, Chihuahua, the State Attorney General’s Office reported.
The State Attorney General’s Office, Southern District, reported that personnel from the State Investigation Agency responded to reports of incidents in Guachochi, where they found a vehicle damaged by fire, damage to a home, and spent shell casings of various calibers.
An operation was implemented Thursday night to search for those responsible for the shootings and provide security for the public.
According to the Agency’s report, a scene was located on the Sierra Tarahumara ring road near El Caballito, where a Chevrolet Tahoe, approximately 2005-2007, was found burned and had gunshot wounds.
No victims or traces of blood were found in the vehicle. A home near the location of the crashed vehicle was damaged by gunshot wounds.
At the scene, personnel from the Forensic Science and Expert Services Unit seized 342 spent 7.62×39 caliber shell casings; two spent 9 millimeter casings; and a gray and black Ruger 9 millimeter caliber pistol.
