Influencer Rubén Arenzana, or Ru Abogado, as he is known on social media, spoke out after his arrest in Mexico City (CDMX) and claimed that police beat him.

Since the afternoon of Friday, May 16, the influencer, known for defending motorists and citizens against acts of corruption by police officers in both Mexico City and the State of Mexico (Edomex), shared various stories about his arrest.

The influencer was arrested in the Miguel Hidalgo borough after allegedly witnessing an act of extortion and confronting police officers who were apparently trying to extort a motorist, although this has not been confirmed.

From the patrol car in which he was taken to the Civic Court, the content creator reported that he had been beaten and that police had even stolen his watch and wallet. He also said that he had not been read his rights and that he did not know where they were taking him.

This violent kidnapper told me he was going to make me disappear. That’s a forced disappearance. I urge all institutions dealing with forced disappearances and torture to take a look at this matter. This individual, who I don’t know who he is and who won’t tell me where we’re going, tells me he’s going to make me disappear. We’re in a place I have no idea about. They didn’t read me my rights. “I’m completely beaten. They also smashed my ribs. My mouth is full of blood. The criminals are free, and those who take care of the people are detained and beaten,” said Ru Abogado from the patrol car in which he was being taken in the back.

In various stories, the influencer recounted his arrest and claimed that they couldn’t bring him in, insisting that the police had robbed and assaulted him.

I’m waiting for them to let me go. These thugs stole my watch, my wallet, and beat me up. I want them to know that I will continue helping the public and they won’t stop me. We will continue this project. Neither beatings nor death will silence me,” he emphasized.

After leaving the Civic Court office, Rubén Arenzana thanked his friends and followers for their support and reported that he had reported the police officers who arrested him.

These three thugs have already been reported, assisted by the entire police force, which, for me, is disgusted by the police in Mexico. We’re going to move forward; together we’ll be able to remove the stumbling blocks,” he said.
