The municipality of Querétaro announced the fourth edition of the Querétaro Experimental Festival, which will take place from August 21 to 24, 2025, in public squares and walkways in the Historic Center.

The new edition will last four days, unlike the previous three editions; in 2024, the festival took place from June 8 to August 17.

The Ministry of Culture launched the call for applications to include local artists dedicated to producing performances in music, dance, theater, and circus. The registration period begins this Thursday and ends on June 20.

“With the Querétaro Experimental Festival, the city will become a magnificent stage where squares, walkways, and corners will be reinterpreted and transformed into venues for performances and experiences through the wonderful splendor of its streets,” the municipality said in a statement.

During the call for entries, proposals will be received from artists, soloists, or groups with shows for all audiences, lasting between 40 and 60 minutes. These proposals will be selected according to two categories: musical proposals to be presented exclusively in public squares, and stage proposals to be presented in theaters.

The proposals will be chosen by a jury and announced on July 7th on the Ministry of Culture’s social media channels, as well as by email. Each project will receive a maximum budget of 20,000 pesos.

The Secretary of Culture, Daniela Salgado, emphasized that the festival will serve as an impetus for local artists to take ownership of public spaces and strengthen the city’s cultural identity. She also reiterated that it will represent an opportunity to showcase Querétaro’s talent.

“This call will be valid until June 20, 2025, so we invite all artists residing in the municipality to participate in this fourth edition of the festival, which will take place from August 21 to 24,” he said.
