The Secretary of Citizen Security, Iovan Elías Pérez Hernández, reported that two criminal cells made up of Colombians involved in the crime of extortion have been detected in the state of Querétaro, and arrests have been made.
He emphasized that this has been detected through the Cyber Police, where the method is the provision of easily accessible loans through digital platforms. He indicated that they ask virtually nothing of the person requesting the loan, only control of their social network or phone contacts, and that as a result, they initiate a series of pressure mechanisms.
He added that they have fully identified the method and are working together with the National Migration Institute and the State Attorney General’s Office.
