The Mexico-Cuernavaca Highway is experiencing severe traffic disruptions in both directions due to a series of accidents that have caused lane reductions along several kilometers, creating long lines and causing distress among motorists.
According to initial reports, the following events are impacting traffic flow:
Km 52, Cuernavaca direction: Lane reductions due to work on a collision with the center wall.
Km 58, Cuernavaca direction: A multiple rear-end collision has been reported, causing another lane reduction.
Km 63, Cuernavaca direction: Work continues on another multiple rear-end collision that also limits traffic flow.
Km 60, Mexico City direction: A car left the road, causing the lanes to remain partially closed while debris from the incident is removed.
Authorities are already in the area working to clear the roadway as quickly as possible. Drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution and, if possible, avoid the highway.
This situation has caused traffic congestion on one of the country’s busiest routes, especially on weekends. Social media users report lines stretching several kilometers, as well as despair among motorists.
