The World Cup will return to Mexico in 2026, co-hosting the tournament with the United States and Canada. That’s why the three Mexican states designated to host matches are Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. The latter has big plans for the future, as its governor, Samuel García, wants to attract as much tourism as possible to Nuevo León during the World Cup.

Samuel García has stated his plans to have Nuevo León ready for a World Cup, attracting tourists and, in his words, “hosting the best Fan Fest in history.” Fundidora Park is where García’s idea will take place; however, everything seems to indicate that a new option for any related activities will soon be available.

“Today we are remodeling and expanding Estrella Park, but we will also have the Water Park in Guadalupe, which will be much more beautiful and will be the same size, with the difference that it will be next to the stadium that will host the World Cup (BBVA Stadium),” the governor said.

García also expressed his enthusiasm for the World Cup projects he has underway, as he doesn’t want to waste any time ensuring everything is completed and ready for the long-awaited date.

“We are ready. We have a year to change our mindset, so that soccer can be the great catalyst for tourism, infrastructure, and socializing. And of course, we also want to be the first place to host the Fan Fest at Fundidora Park, which was the location chosen by FIFA for said event,” he declared.
