The municipality of Guadalupe achieved something historic this past Saturday, June 21st, by breaking three Guinness World Records in a single day during La Discada 2025, a gastronomic event that brought together live music, contests, and various activities at the Expo Guadalupe Beer Garden.
More than 13,000 tacos were prepared and served throughout the event, cooked on an impressive 7-meter-diameter disc that housed approximately five tons of ingredients such as meat, onions, sausage, chili, and various other ingredients.
What world records were achieved?
This event brought together more than 100 people, including chefs, grillers, culinary students, and Guadalupe residents, to prepare not only the world’s largest discada, but also to collaborate in achieving two other important records.
Records achieved:
The world’s largest discada
The largest disc ever used for cooking
The largest number of tacos served in one hour, more than 13,000 tacos.
These achievements were officially certified by representatives of Guinness World Records, who endorsed each of the challenges completed during the event.
The discada, made with ingredients such as beef, pork, chorizo, sausage, onion, and chili, was cooked throughout the afternoon this past Saturday. From 1:00 PM, when the event began, thousands of people gathered to witness this feat and even contribute to obtaining these world-class recognitions.
In addition, the event also included competitions such as “best discada recipe,” “grilled arrow,” and “drunken salsa,” in which more than 19 teams participated and attractive prizes were awarded.
Furthermore, the stage was enlivened by artists such as Luis and Julián Jr. and Raziel Garza, who provided the musical touch.
