To the north of Puebla’s capital is Paseo de los Gigantes Park, where 56 scale replicas of the world’s most important monuments are displayed; each one features historical information. This space is divided into three historic sites from Puebla, Mexico, and the world.
Paseo de los Gigantes is an open-air museum; it features scale models of the most iconic buildings from Puebla, Mexico, and the world, so you can explore them all without leaving the city.
What are the different areas of Paseo de los Gigantes in Puebla?
This park is divided into three main areas. Upon entering, you’ll find the section dedicated to the state of Puebla, which showcases the state’s history and traditions. It includes buildings such as the Cathedral, Cuauhtémoc Stadium, a two-time World Cup host, the renovated Estrella de Puebla, and the Comprehensive Services Center (CIS).
Another area is dedicated to national monuments, including the Basilica of Guadalupe, the Angel of Independence, and the Palace of Fine Arts.
Meanwhile, on the international level, there are monuments from the United States, such as the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty. Additionally, you can see the great St. Basil’s Basilica and Red Square, located in Moscow, and the Brandenburg Gate, in Germany, among others.
Continuing along the tour, you can find other emblems from around the world, such as Christ the Redeemer, from Brazil; the Eiffel Tower, the Roman Colosseum, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Pyramids of Egypt, and the Great Wall of China.
In addition to appreciating the models, you can also learn about the history of each of these places. Therefore, the Director of Conventions and Parks, Michelle Talavera, revealed to Multimedios Puebla that the sound of each of these models was modified to enhance the experience.
On the other hand, the official pointed out that this is not the only renovation that will take place, as together with the state government, it was decided to expand the number of models on display; however, this will only occur with Puebla buildings.
Puebla Exhibition Center will be part of the Paseo de los Gigantes
Michelle Talavera revealed that one of the buildings that will be integrated into the exhibition is the Exhibition Center, because it is a unique building in Latin America and should be added to this collection.
She also noted that it is not just the Paseo de los Gigantes that has been remodeled. Although they have not yet done so in all the parks, they will do so throughout the administration, as the goal is to ensure that the state’s green areas are well utilized.
And as a result of this project, which began a few months ago, 30,000 more visitors have already been registered in all the parks compared to the previous year, indicating that the renovations are pleasing to the public.
As if that weren’t enough, in addition to the more than 50 scale models in the park, there are other amenities, such as basketball courts, mini-golf, and paddle tennis courts, although these latter activities have an extra cost.
It’s worth remembering that this park had been forgotten; even during Miguel Barbosa’s administration, there were plans to remove them; but during Sergio Salomón’s administration, it was rehabilitated and reopened to the public. The state government currently has plans to expand it.
