The passage of Storm Barry in Tamaulipas left at least 330 homes damaged by floodwaters that reached depths of up to 50 centimeters, according to the news agency Quadratín México.

The storm made landfall on Sunday, June 29, near the municipality of Tampico Alto, Veracruz, quickly weakening to a tropical depression. However, its cloud bands produced intense rains in central and northern Veracruz, and torrential rains in central and southern Tamaulipas, mainly in the upper Guayalejo River basin.

Over the course of four days, the effects of rising water levels on the Guayalejo River were recorded, impacting the municipalities of Jaumave, Llera, Gómez Farías, Casas, Xicoténcatl, Ocampo, and El Mante.

The agency stated that no deaths or injuries have been reported. In the municipality of González, Tamaulipas, authorities report stable conditions in the municipal seat, with no flooding or damage to homes.

In the La Reforma ejido, where the greatest impact from the rains was recorded, the electricity supply and access to drinking water are being maintained through the distribution of water jugs. As part of the humanitarian aid efforts, 3,000 food parcels and 14,000 liters of water have been provided to families.
