Measles advances in Mexico: already affecting 20 states, Health Department warns

Measles continues its spread in Mexico, with confirmed cases reported in 20 states as of July 10, according to the latest report from the Federal Ministry of Health.

This figure represents an increase from the 18 states that reported cases as of June 30.

The current distribution of confirmed measles cases covers 20 states and 79 municipalities. Hidalgo remains free of confirmed cases of this disease.

To date, the country has 3,261 confirmed cases of measles, of which 45 were reported in the last 24 hours. Unfortunately, nine deaths have been recorded so far this year due to this disease.

Chihuahua remains the state with the highest concentration of cases, totaling 3,054 infections.

Regarding the most affected age groups, statistics show that children ages 0 to 4 are the main risk group, with 693 cases. They are followed by young people aged 25 to 29 with 463 cases, and the 30 to 34 age group with 392 confirmed cases.

Federal and state health authorities continue to monitor the situation and strengthen vaccination campaigns to contain the spread of the virus.
