A new tourist transport vessel from Baja Ferries was inaugurated today in the beautiful port of Pichilingue, located in La Paz, Baja California Sur. It is marking a milestone in the American continent due to its large capacity.
“This Cabo Star vessel from this Baja Ferries company is going to make history for several reasons: one, it is the largest vessel that has ever arrived in Baja California Sur and it will be the largest vessel, the largest vessel in Latin America!” exclaimed Governor Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío during the inauguration ceremony.
The governor of Baja California Sur also boasted that the new Baja Ferries vessel, operating on the Mazatlán-La Paz route, will transport a total of 250,000 passengers annually, including residents of the region and tourists.
Castro Cosío also highlighted the important contribution this new Baja Ferries vessel will make in transporting cargo across the Sea of Cortez.
“Imagine how important it’s not going to be: it’s going to move 250,000 passengers, who are going to come to our land! … And it’s going to move more than 200,000 units. Imagine the strategic task it has for local commerce, not only for the port, but also for the entire state’s merchandise,” exclaimed Víctor Manuel Castro Cosío.
Baja Ferries’ Goal for 2030
Also present at the inaugural event of the new Cabo Star ship was Nino Liaño Egozcue, CEO of Baja Ferries, who shared some of the company’s future projects.
